Smoothies can be a great way to get your veggie servings in each day. They can also be loaded with sugar and excess calories ~ especially the store bought varieties. I recommend blending your own smoothies with healthy ingredients like Kale, spinach, and almond or coconut milk. It is vey easy to make these high glycemic by adding a lot of fruit. Avoid this. I recommend avoiding fruit juice in your smoothie as well. Try water or coconut water to cut back on sugar. Blog is coming soon!
